Our Church Family
Here is a picture of many of our small but growing congregation - taken just after our Advent II service, Dec 4th 2011. Three were confirmed and four received.
Mrs Jennifer Jarrett- Organist
Jennifer is our Music Director and Organist. From Poquoson, VA, Mrs.Jarrett holds her B.S. from Longwood University with a major in Vocal Performance and her minor in Organ. Mrs. Jarrett is also the Menchville High School Choral Director, returning near to home to share her musical talents with her community.
Our congregation also enjoys the benefit of having a talented piano, voice, and flute teacher so close to us. St. Timothy's looks to grow our music program under Jarrett's direction.
Jennifer's husband, Mason, is a recent graduate of ODU and native of Menchville who is currently employed as an engineer with Furguson Enterprises.

St. Timothy was the first Bishop of Ephesus. You may remember him better as the young man the Apostle Paul took with him on his missionary journeys. His mother was Jewish and his father was a Gentile - which, combined with his thorough study of the Scriptures from his youth, uniquely fitted him to complete St. Paul's work to forge a universal catholic church of former Jews and former Pagans upon the foundation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
St. Timothy grew from a mere youthful assistant - hand picked by St. Paul - to an accomplished protégé who would eventually acceede to the Pauline missionary Bishopric as the first Bishop of Ephesus. Timothy was martyred for his preaching against the worship of idols, specifically the worship of the goddess Diana. He was beaten and stoned to death. His martyr's symbolic shield is a red shield with a club surrounded by stones.
