Ash Wednesday Service will be held at the Rectory Chapel, 4 Valmoore Drive in Poquoson at 7pm, Feb. 22nd (If you need to call: 848 8218). There will be no soup supper prior to the service and no study during - just the Service for the Imposition of Ashes. We will resume our Lenten Discipline soup/service/study the following Wednesday, Feb. 29th.
Lenten Discipline We know that it is a little early for a Lenten discipline to begin, but we wanted to do a series of meditations on John before Easter, so we have decided to begin even before Ash Wednesday - in fact, this Wednesday, February 8th. So throughout this season we will meet at the Rectory Chapel (848 8218) on Wednesday night at 6:30 for a soup supper, then a short Evening Prayer service in which we will include a short mediation on the work of St. John. So try out your favorite soup recipe and join us for soup, worship, fellowship and a meditation upon St. John. And as usual, bring the kids.
In The Works: Our Vestry bylaws are currently making the rounds - we hope to vote on them in the next couple of weeks. We are thinking about having a Lenten study (which is fast appoaching) on Fee and Stuart's book: "How to Study the Bible for All it's Worth." Standby for time and place.
Annual Church Meeting on January 15th - We had a very sucessful meeting. Four new Vestry members were elected and we are within striking distance of a set of formal bylaws that will assist in our incorporation as a charitable organization; i.e., a Church.
Jim Theuer, our de jure canon lawyer from Norfolk, and current President of the Board of Directors of St. Andrew's Theological College and Seminary, visited with us on Advent IV (December 18th) to help us get our vestry properly established and our church legally incorporated.
Jim Theuer (far right) speaks with our Senior Warden, Mrs. Carrie Strickland (red sweater) during our recent Vestry meeting.

The Bishop visited us on the 4th of December. The Bishop made his annual visitation to see the progress that we have made, to confirm our new confirmands, and to receive those who wanted to become an "official" member of St. Timothy. It was a glorious service with many visitors. The Bishop's reception was also a great success - the center piece of our fare was grilled oysters from Ship Point Oyster Co. - a local farm belonging to one of our newly recieved members.
